Hi everyone.
I contacted Judy with the following letter:

Hello Judy.
Marek Tronina told me that you were looking for some running partners in Warsaw.
So I'll try to present the situation.
I am a member of a running Saturday gruop - running in the north of Warsaw, in The Bielanski Forrest.
We usually start very gently - running for 3 miles at about 9 min/mile.
Than we come to a place where we start our "individual" workouts - faster people run faster, slower slower - we make 4 miles this way, and than aggain a gentle 3 miles run on the way back.
This is a group of amateur running funs, enjoying the nature, company of the others.
One of our members used to be a proffesional runner in the 50-ties. His PR was below 30 minutes per 10K. Now he's 70 years old but still in a good shape.
So I wanted to invite you to join us on Saturday. The run starts early - 8:00 am. I am ready to pick you up from the place where you are staying and drive you to our destination. Well - depending on a weather and your feeling we could run this distance - Marek told me that you would be staying somewere around the Old City - but this would be an additional 3-4 miles and I am not sure if you are accustomed to such a distance (all together this would be about 13-14 miles, assuming that you don't want to run to our home destination :) ).
So let me know what you think. If you find the idea of running with us interesting - best would be probably a telephone call. Call me on one of the below given numbers:

Mobile: +48 608 68 98 05
Office: +(48) 22 8290 209
Home: +(48) 22 8333 653

As an interesting issue, you should probbably now, that our group has begun the whole movement of running groups all around Poland. We started it and now there are more groups appearing in different cities.
So when you visit any bigger city in Poland you may find a group and tell tham that you were running with the famous SBBP (this is a name of our group - abbreviation from polish The Saturday Bielanski Morning Run)
Here you even have a picture taken during one of our meetings, celebrating birtdday of one of us.

If you want to find a running partner for the rest of the week it is much more difficult - most of us work and we run but rather indiviually as we have to fit it to our daily schedule.
So - best regards
Hoping to hear from you, Adam Klein

And Judy responded:

Hi Adam!

Amazing!  I'm so impressed with how warm and open Polish people are!  Your plans sound perfect but for the fact that I won't get there until 5pm Saturday!  Any Sunday runners? If not, I guess I could run along the river starting from Old Town.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Are there any restaurants serving good fresh salads or lots of fresh veggies?  I come from California, if you haven't guess yet.

Look forward to hearing from you,
Judy Chow

So guys.
I told Judy that I would put these letters on this forum, I hope she will get in here and read and talk with us.

Now a question to all the runners in Warsaw - what can you suggest ? At least in the area of these diet prefferences she has? And anything about a Sunday Run? Anyone running on Sunday willing to show Warsaw to an American Runner from California??!!??!
This maybe an interesting experience - take someone around Warsaw running.

What about Sunday morning run along the riverside heading to Kepa Potocka or Mlociny and back? How many miles it would be? We can show Judy view to the Old Town, Cytadela, Kepa Potocka, Bielany. It is one of the most beautiful parts of Warsaw.

Unfortunately I don't know any good restaurant in the area of Old Town serving fresh and tasty vegetables. There is one, in New Town actually, and this is vegetarian restaurant but I'm not sure if it is open before noon.

You mean Nove Miasto? I think it has been closed.

But firrst - I would like Judy to tell us something about her running - standard distance covered, pace ?

What if she says: "My standard distance is 20 miles running 6 min per mile?" I quit.

I would quit too.

But I think there's no such a risk. Just ask her by phone what distanse she is thinking of and than we will be able to manage a meeting.

joycat: you have forgotten about "Eagle's nests trail" along the river - unforgettable experience for any runner. :bum: :hej:

What's that?
Eagle's nests trail - I don't follow.
I guess you mean "beer gardens" :) ?

In the Sunday morning they are empty, no people there. Everybody sleeps after Saturday night fever.

Anyway - will we make any decisions about running with Judy?

Perhaps it is a "szlak orlich gniazd". It was just a suggestion.

It was a joke of course.
"The Eagle's Nest Trail" - consists of an old fashioned beer bars "budki z piwem" along the  Vistula river. They were build a long time ago during communist era, but now they are overwhelmed by summer beer gardens.

Hi Everyone!  This is Judy.  I just read all the funny responses :]  I leave L.A. your Saturday evening and am not sure I'll have access to email in Warsaw.  So, I'll post a run to anyone interested in a 9 minute pace, 10k distance, anti-jet-lag jog along the river meeting at the pond near the exit from Old Town on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.  I'll be easy to spot as I will probably be the only tan, California-salad-eating, Asian out there!  Too bad to hear that the vegetarian place in Nowa Swiat is closed!  I don't know where this message will end up as I don't understand a thing on this page :]  Here goes...
Ciao,
Judy

Hi Judy!
Nice to see you in our forum.
I guess it won't be your first stay in Poland, will it?
What do you mean exactly proposing a meeting at the pond near exit from Old Town?
You think about the pond below the scarp?

Fredzio, help us! Do you know which pond Judy means?

Hey Fredzio, Hey Joycat~

My memory tells me that as I exited Old Town area to go towards the river, there was a pond or fountain off to one side between Old Town and the river.  Never mind, that may not be a good place.  Do you have a suggestion for a better place?  My last visit was about 4 years ago, much could have changed since then.  Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Judy. A specially warm welcome hug from local veggie :)

Fredzio has mentioned 'Nove Miasto' - it means New Town its next to Old Town :)  As far as I know vege bar at Nowy Swiat street is running its bussines pretty well, but its located more to the Aleje Jerozolimskie street, 3 bus stops from the exact OT. I'll check it 2morrow (my work is located close  2 it) so u'll know it 4 sure ;)

Hope you will have a nice stay in Poland.

Judy,
I got it. I know that pond.
That place is OK for me.

Fine, we'll meet at 8:30 am on Sunday, in the park down below the Old Town.
The weather is going to be wonderful, sunny and warm like in California ;)

I don't know which place you're talklin about.
But - because I see that a nice company going is to be there I'll be there too.
Only you must tell me Joycat where.
This is supposed to be mu long run day, so I will run to the place.

Was it Wojtek who said that you can run in Łazienki before 10:00 am ? So we could run in this destination.

Judy probably is a dark hair women - she wrote she is Asian. Unless she painetd her hair.

Anyway - Judy is probbably going to call me before.

This is what Judy wrote after making her first post:

Hey Adam~

I just checked out the forum, that was a good idea!  I think I managed to respond and hope to hear some takers on the run.  I totally expect that you'll be out there...no excuses :)  Perhaps I'll give you a call when I arrive Saturday evening just to say hello in person.  Thanks for all your efforts!!

Judy

So you see - in this case I have to be there ;)
